Newton Abbot Market:

Newton Abbot Market, located within the centre of Newton Abbot, provides a traditional venue for the livestock market. The market draws livestock from across the South Hams and beyond and is well supported by buyers located across the South West.

This market provides a fortnightly Wednesday auction of prime cattle, cull cows and store cattle plus ewes, hoggs and lambs with a further monthly sale of TB restricted cattle.

Chagford Market:

Rendells Chagford market offers a rare and welcomed opportunity to sell in a traditional environment having wooden rails and gates and with grass growing underfoot. Famously, this is one of the only livestock markets within the Dartmoor National Park and the last to uphold the time honoured tradition of the ‘drift sales’ of the Dartmoor Hill Pony.

The market is seasonal but is going from strength to strength with an increase of livestock numbers and more frequent sale dates for cattle, sheep, horses, ponies and machinery.

Ashburton Market:

Steeped in history with the first show and sale in Ashburton dating back to 1893 the Ashburton Sheep Sale was restarted again in 2019 being located in the grass fields lying to the west of the town at Peartree Cross directly off the A38.

Successfully supported by local farmers from all over the South West including the South Hams and Dartmoor whom require a rural, open-air, seasonal sheep sale and it is hoped this traditional event will continue for many years to come.

With the sales of couples, breeding ewes, store lambs and breeding sheep taking place up to three times a year, it is hoped that this sale will continue to grow from strength to strength.

Newton Abbot Horse Tack, Pet Food and Sundries Auction:

Rendells hold regular Horse Tack with Pet Food sales throughout the year at Newton Abbot Market. The sale regularly attracts entries in excess of 300 lots of Tack and Saddlery and over 300 lots of Pet Food & Sundries.

Farm and Machinery Sales:

Rendells Rural Department can arrange Farm Dispersal Sales of live and dead stock. Various annual collective machinery auctions are held including the successful Buckfastleigh Racecourse sale in the spring and sales at Chagford Market throughout the year.
